The County Council is the Strategic Commissioner of Education Provision in Kent and has a duty to ensure that sufficient school places are available to meet demand. The Commissioning Plan for Education Provision in Kent sets out Kent’s commissioning intentions and is revised annually. The 2016-20 edition was approved by full Cabinet in March 2016. The Plan forecasts an increase in the demand for primary school places across Dartford East from September 2016. The local authority is therefore commissioning additional school places at the Brent Primary School from 2FE to 3FE, increasing the PAN from 60 to 90. This proposal will add 30 Year R places from September 2016 and subsequent years, taking the total capacity of the school from 420 to 630.
The school is conducting its own consultation with details available on their website http://www.brent.kent.sch.uk/letters-and-newsletters.html.
An Equality Impact assessment has been completed and can be found below.
The consultation closes on Wednesday 22 June 2016.
