Harrietsham CEP School

Update - 16 February 2017

Following the end of the Public Notice period, Kent County Council’s Cabinet Member for Education and Health Reform, Mr Roger Gough, has confirmed his decision, taken under procedures laid down in Kent County Council’s constitution, to continue with the proposal to expand Harrietsham CEP School, from 210 to 420 places for 1 September 2018, subject to planning permission being granted.

Update - 6 January 2017

The public notice, published in the Kent Messenger on 6 January 2017 can be found below, together with the complete proposal and report.  The closing date for sending in objections and comments is 3 February 2017 and written representations should be sent to Jared Nehra, Area Education Officer for West Kent, Sessions House, County Hall, Maidstone. Explanatory Note:
This proposal is subject to planning agreement for the new school buildings.

Update - 23 December 2016

The consultation on the proposal to expand Harriestham CEP School has now closed.  The outcome of the consultation was reported to KCC’s Education and Young People's Services Cabinet Committee on 23 November 2016.   

The Committee resolved to endorse the proposal. Following this the Cabinet Member for Education and Health Reform took the decision to proceed with the proposal. The Record of Decision and consultation report are available in the 'Summary of Results' section below.

The next stage of the process will be to issue a  Public Notice which we anticipate will happen early January 2017.

Original consultation text

Kent County Council is proposing to expand Harrietsham CEP School, West Street, Harrietsham, Kent ME17 1JZ, from 210 places to 420 places, increasing the published admission number (PAN) from 30 to 60 for Year R entry in September 2018.  You are welcome to attend the drop-in information sharing session at Harrietsham Primary School  from 4.00 – 5.30 on 5 October 2016. In attendance will be the Headteacher and governor representatives from Harrietsham CEP School and officers from Kent County Council. We will be pleased to talk you through the plans and to answer any questions you may have.
