Following the end of the Public Notice period, the decision has been made to go ahead with the proposal.

Updated 2 December:

The consultation has now ended and the outcome of the consultation reported to the Cabinet Member for Education and Health Reform.  

Mr Roger Gough, Cabinet Member for Education and Health Reform, considered the responses to the consultation and agreed that a public notice should be issued.  The public notice, can be found below, together with the complete proposal.  The closing date for sending in written responses supporting, objecting or commenting on the proposal is 2 January 2015 and written representations should be sent to Ian Watts, Area Education Officer for North Kent, Worrall House, 30 Kings Hill Avenue, Kings Hill, West Malling, Kent ME19 4AE.

The school has been identified by colleagues in the Health Service as doing particularly well at supporting pupils with Autistic Spectrum Disorder (ASD).  We want to capitalise on that expertise by creating a new Specialist Resource Base Provision (SRBP) within the school for 12 children with Autistic Spectrum Disorder (ASD).

If you are intending to contact us with your views may we ask that you please do this by 21 July 2014.  We will pass all comments and views received to our Cabinet Member who will make a decision on whether we should proceed with this proposal.  If he decides to proceed we will publish a Public Notice on 25 July 2014 which will run for 4 weeks.
