As no objections were received to the public notice, the decision taken by Roger Gough, Cabinet Member for Education and Health Reform on 6 November 2014 to increase the designated number of the school from 144 to 200 has been confirmed.  Below is a copy of the Record of Decision.

Updated 18 November 2014:

The consultation on the proposal to increase the designated number of St Nicholas School from 144 to 200 has now ended and the outcome of the consultation reported to the Cabinet Member for Education and Health Reform.  The report is available below.

 Mr Roger Gough, Cabinet Member for Education and Health Reform agreed that a public notice should be issued.  The public notice, published in the Kentish Gazette on 19 November 2014 can be found below, together with the complete proposal.  The closing date for sending written responses supporting, objecting or commenting on the proposal is 17 December 2014.  Written representations should be sent to Marisa White, Area Education Officer, East Kent Office, Brook House, Reeves Way, Whitstable, Kent CT5 3SS or email school.consultations@kent.gov.uk.

Kent County Council would like to hear your views on a proposal to increase the designated number of St Nicholas’ (Community Special) School from 144 to 200.

The public consultation will run for a period of 4 weeks from 8 September to 6 October.  The consultation letter below gives you details of the proposal, information on the background to it and outlines the current position.  If you wish to send it written comments about the proposal, please email them to school.consulations@kent.gov.uk, alternatively you can write to Marisa White, Area Education Officer, Brook House, Reeves Way, Whitstable, Kent, CT5 3SS or hand your letter in at the school.
