Libraries, Registration and Archive Service Consultation Featured
Kent County Council (KCC) is consulting on how to best deliver Library, Registration and Archive (LRA) services for the future. From many options we have looked to find the most sustainable that will deliver customer-focused services and contribute to the savings KCC has to make. KCC encourages you to consider the proposal and feedback your thoughts. No formal decision has been taken and we want to hear everyone's views. This consultation will run from 12th January until 8th April 2015 .

The Kent County Council (Various Roads, Dover District)(Waiting Restrictions and Street Parking Places) Consolidation (Amendment No 28) Order 2014
Notice is hereby given that KENT COUNTY COUNCIL has made the above named Order The effect of the Order prohibits waiting at any time (double yellow lines) at the following locations:- Ramsgate Road, Sandwich - On the eastern side of the road, from its junction with Willow bank in a northerly direction to its junction with Stonar Road. On the eastern side of the road, from its junction with Stonar Road in a northerly direction to its junction with Monks Way. On the western side of the road, from a point opposite the junction with Willowbank, in a northerly direction to its junction with Monks Way. Willowbank, Sandwich - On the north side of the road, from its junction with Ramsgate Road for a distance of 25m in an easterly direction.

The Kent County Council (Various Roads, The District of Shepway) (Prohibition and Restriction of Traffic Movements) (Amendment No.5) Consolidation Order 2015
Notice is hereby given that KENT COUNTY COUNCIL proposes to make the above named Order under sections 1(1), 2(1) to (3), 3(2), 4(1) and (2), 32(1), 35(1), 45, 46, 49 and 53 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, and of all other enabling powers, and after consultation with the Chief Officer of Police in accordance with Paragraph 20 of Schedule 9 to the Act: The effect of the Orders will be to revoke the one-way working currently in place in Manor Road and install a new permit holder bay at the side of no.134 Sandgate Road (Royal Bank of Scotland). The existing parking bay opposite the side of no.134 Sandgate Road will also be extended in length.

Notice is hereby given that KENT COUNTY COUNCIL proposes to make the above named Order under sections 1(1), 2(1) to (3), 3(2), 4(1) and (2), 32(1), 35(1), 45, 46, 49 and 53 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, and of all other enabling powers, and after consultation with the Chief Officer of Police in accordance with Paragraph 20 of Schedule 9 to the Act: The effect of the Order will be to install a new permit holder bay at the side of no.134 Sandgate Road (Royal Bank of Scotland) and extend the length of the existing parking bay opposite the side of no.134 Sandgate Road. The existing parking bay opposite no 1-15 will be retained but half-inset to provide additional carriageway width.

The Kent County Council (Borough of Maidstone) Waiting Restrictions Variation No. 24 Order 2014
The Kent County Council hereby make the above Order. (1)The effect of the Order will amend 'No Waiting at any Time' restrictions on the following roads or length of roads: Cuckoowood Avenue - North-eastern side, from its junction with Sandling Lane in a north-easterly direction to its junction with Sandbourne Drive. North-eastern side, from its junction with the access to Boarley Court in a north-westerly direction for a distance of 5 metres. South-eastern side, from its junction with Sandling Lane in a north-easterly direction for a distance of 38 metres. South-eastern side, from a point 73 metres northeast of its junction with Sandling Lane to its junction with Sandbourne Drive. The effect of the Order will also introduce waiting restrictions Monday to Friday 9:30am to 5:30pm on the south-eastern side, from a point 38 metres northeast of its junction with Sandling Lane in a north-easterly direction for a distance of 35 metres.

NOTICE is hereby given that the Kent County Council proposes to make an Order, the effect of which would be to: Reduce the speed limit from 30mph to 20mph on the following roads: ST PETERS PLACE - from its junction with Tower Way in a north easterly direction to its junction with St Dunstan's Street. ST DUNSTANS STREET - from its junction with St Peter's Place in a north westerly direction to its junction with Station Road West. The Kent County Council (St Dunstan's Street, The District of Canterbury) (6' 6" Width Restriction) Order 2015
NOTICE is hereby given that The Kent County Council, acting as the Local Traffic Authority proposes to make the above named Order. The general effect of this order is to implement a 6 feet 6 inch width limit which prevents any vehicle with a width exceeding 6' 6'' to proceed in those lengths of road specified in the Schedule of the Order. Exemptions are provided in the Order for; emergency services, authorities in pursuance of statutory powers and local buses. Full details of the exemptions are provided in the articles of the Order. Roads effected by the Order are:- (a) St Dunstans Street, Canterbury - Between (but not including) its junctions with North Lane and Pound Lane on the north-eastern side of the carriageway only, through the Westgate Towers.

The general effect of this order is to implement a 7.5 Tonne weight limit which prevents any vehicle with a weight exceeding 7.5T to proceed in those lengths of road specified in the Schedule of the Order. Gighill Road Larkfield - Changes to Traffic Calming Features
We will be changing the existing road humps on Gighill Road to speed cushions. The current full width road humps on Gighill Road can cause discomfort to bus and coach passengers therefore we intend to replace the road humps with speed cushions which allow wider wheel base vehicles to straddle the traffic calming features and improve ride comfort. The works are programmed to commence on site on Monday 12th January 2015 and will take 4 weeks to complete subject to weather conditions. Westgate Bay Avenue, Westgate-On-Sea - Proposed zebra crossing
Following enquiries from residents, Kent County Councillor Jeff Elenor has requested that we install a scheme using his Member Grant allocation to address concerns about crossing the road in this area. This scheme involves: -The installation of a new zebra crossing with associated beacons and tactile paving. -Improvements to the existing street lighting in the area. -Application of high friction surfacing on each approach to the proposed crossing.

Notice is hereby given that Kent County Council proposes to make the above named Order. The effect of the Order will be to: (a) revoke the current residents' parking places at the following locations Darnley road - on the eastern side, between points 21m and 57m north of the juncrion with Trafalgar Road and Darnley Road - on the western side, between points 21m and 57m south of the junction with Arthur Street and Arthur Street West. (b)Introduce residents' parking places at the following location, where parking is restricted to residents' or visitors' permit holders only between the hours of midnight and 8am and between 6.30pm and midnight on all days and where parking is limited to 1 hour (no return within 2 hours) betweeb 8.00am and 6.30pm on all days except for residents' or visitors' permit holders. Darnley Road - on the eastern side, between a point 43m south of the junction with Arthur street and Arthur Street West and a pint 21m north of the junction with Trafalgar Road.
