(WEIGHT RESTRICTION) ORDER 2018

Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984

Kent County Council acting as the local Traffic Authority and in exercise of its powers under Sections 1, 2 and 3(2) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (hereinafter referred to as ‘the Act’) as amended, and of all other enabling powers and after consultation with the Chief Officer of Police in accordance with Part III of Schedule 9 to the Act of 1984, hereby make the following Order: -

The general effect of this Order is to prevent any goods vehicles with a maximum permissible laden weight of which exceeds 7.5Tonnes to proceed in those lengths of road specified in the Schedules of this Order. Exemptions are provided in the Order for; access to land & properties, permit holders, vehicles engaged agricultural activities, emergency services, authorities in pursuance of statutory powers and vehicles engaged in such building operations as maintenance, improvement or demolition. Full details of the exemptions are provided in the Articles of the Order.

The length of road subject to a 7.5Tonne Weight Restriction as stated below

Staplestreet Road, Dunkirk; from its junction with Dawes Road, southwards then in a north-westerly direction to its junction with The Street.

A statement of the Council’s reasons for making the proposed Order, a map indicating the location and the effect and a copy of any other Orders which will be amended by the proposed Order may be examined on Mondays to Friday at The Kent County Council, Sessions House, Maidstone, ME14 1XQ, at The Kent County Council, Kent Highway & Transportation, Ashford Highway Depot, Henwood Industrial Estate, Unit 4 Javelin Way, Ashford, Kent TN24 8AD, and at Swale House East Street, Sittingbourne, Kent ME10 3HT during normal office hours or downloaded from the consultation document section below.
