(20MPH, 30MPH, 40MPH, 50MPH SPEED LIMITS AND DERESTRICTED ROADS)

AMENDMENT No.34 ORDER 2019

Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984

NOTICE is hereby given that the Kent County Council proposes to make the above-named

Order under Sections 81, 82, 83 and 84 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of

which would be to: -

Due to the new residential development ‘Woodland Green’ adjacent to Headcorn Road/Pile

Lane, Staplehurst, Kent County Council in the above-named Order proposes to amend the

speed limit and lengths of the speed limits for safety reasons in the following roads or lengths of

roads;

1. To implement 30mph Speed Limits in the following roads or length of roads

i) Brishley Close, George Smith Close, Great Threads, Little Threads, Rags Field,

Sergison Crescent and Wickings Close (for their entire lengths):

ii) Headcorn Road:

From a point 188 metres east of its junction with Great Threads to its junction with High

Street.

iii) Pile Farm Road (known locally as Pile Lane):

From its junction with Great Threads in a northeasterly direction to its junction with

Couchman Green Lane.

2. To reduce the lengths of the Derestricted Speed Limit in the following roads or length

of roads.

iv) Headcorn Road:

From a point 188 metres east of its junction with Great Threads to its junction with

Hawkenbury Road

Full details and a statement of the Council’s reasons for making the proposed Order, a map

indicating the location and the effect and a copy of any other Orders which will be amended by

the proposed Order may be examined on Mondays to Friday at The Kent County Council,

Sessions House, Maidstone, ME14 1XQ, and at The Kent County Council, Highways,

Transportation & Waste, Ashford Highway Depot, Henwood Industrial Estate, Unit 4 Javelin

Way, Ashford, Kent TN24 8AD during normal office hours or viewed online at

Any persons wishing to support the proposal or object to it, should write to The TRO Coordinator,

the name of the Order and stating their reasons, by no later than 12 noon Monday 24th June
