(20MPH, 30MPH, 40MPH, 50MPH SPEED LIMITS AND DERESTRICTED ROADS) AMENDMENT No.9 ORDER 2018

Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984

NOTICE is hereby given that the Kent County Council acting as the local Traffic Authority has made the above-named Order under Sections 81, 82, 83 and 84 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which would be to: -

The decision has been made due to the new Bus Parking Places located in the access to the Sittingbourne Community College to lower the speed limit in the following roads or lengths of roads;

1. To implement 30mph Speed Limits in the following length of roads

CANTERBURY ROAD, SITTINGBOURNE:

From its roundabout junction with East Street to a point 150 metres east of its junction with Vincent Road

2. To implement 40mph Speed Limits in the following length of roads

CANTERBURY ROAD, BAPCHILD

From a point 150 metres east of its junction with Vincent Road to its junction with Canterbury Road

FOX HILL, BAPCHILD:

From its junction with Canterbury Road to its junction with School Lane

A copy of the Order, statement of the Council’s reasons for making the Order, a map indicating the location and the effect and a copy of any other Orders which will be amended by the Order may be examined on Mondays to Friday at The Kent County Council, Sessions House, Maidstone, ME14 1XQ, at The Kent County Council, Highway, Transportation & Waste, Ashford Highway Depot, Henwood Industrial Estate, Unit 4 Javelin Way, Ashford, Kent TN24 8AD and at Swale House East Street, Sittingbourne, Kent ME10 3HT during normal office hours or download from the consultation document section below.

Anyone may, by application to the High Court within 6 weeks of the date of publication of this Notice, challenge the validity of the Orders or of any provision contained in them on the grounds that it is not within the powers conferred by the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, or any instrument made thereunder, or that there has been a failure to comply with any statutory requirement in relation to the Orders.
