The public notice period in respect of the decision to revoke the planned expansion of Deal Parochial Church of England Primary School ended on 27 May 2019. No comments or responses to the public notice were received. Mr Roger Gough, Cabinet Member for Children, Young People and Education has confirmed his decision of 17 April 2019 will stand and the planned expansion of the School from September 2020 will not go ahead.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

In April 2017 the Cabinet Member, Children, Young People and Education agreed to expand Deal Parochial CE Primary School by 1FE from September 2018. The proposal to expand the School was published on 12 May 2017. The original paper and decision can be found here:

Original Paper

Original Decision

The decision to expand the School was due to forecast pressures for primary school places in Deal and the significant amount of planned housing development.

The demand for places has not come forward as we originally forecast. Therefore, in accordance with section 19(1) of the Education and Inspections Act 2006 Kent County Council intends to revoke the decision to expand the School by 1FE.

A public notice will be published in the East Kent Mercury on 3rd May 2019.  A copy of the public notice and the complete proposal can be found in the document section below.
