AMENDMENT No.13 ORDER 2019

 Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984

 

NOTICE is hereby given that the Kent County Council acting as the local Traffic Authority and in exercise of its powers has made the above-named Order under Sections 81, 82, 83 and 84 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which would be: -

Due to the new roundabout at its junction with Barton Hill Drive and (A2500) Lower Road, it has become necessary to reduce/increase and or retain various speed limit lengths in the following roads or lengths of roads in Minster-on-Sea, Isle of Sheppey;

    1. To extend the length of the 40mph Speed Limit in the following road or lengths of road LOWER ROAD; from a point 110 metres east of the roundabout at its junction with Thistle Hill Way westwards for a distance of 792 metres
    2.  To retain the length of the 40mph Speed Limit in the following road or lengths of road LOWER ROAD; from a point 70 metres southwest of its junction with Elmley Road to a point 104 metres east of its junction with Windmill Quay Road
    3. To retain the length of the 50mph Speed Limit in the following road or lengths of road LOWER ROAD; from the Cowstead Corner roundabout at its junction with Queenborough Road eastwards for a distance of 70 metre
    4. To extend the length of the Derestricted Speed Limit in the following road or lengths of road FORTY ACRES HILL; from a point 70 metres southwest of its junction with Elmley Road to a point 110 metres east of the roundabout at its junction with Thistle Hill Way LOWER ROAD; from a point 35 metres east of its junction with Eastchurch Road to a point 104 metres east of its junction with Windmill Quay Road LOWER ROAD; from a point 70 metres east of the Cowstead Corner roundabout at its junction with Queenborough Road eastwards for a distance of 831 metres

A copy of the Order, statement of the Council’s reasons for making the Order, a map indicating the location and the effect and a copy of any other Orders which will be amended by the Order may be examined on Mondays to Friday at The Kent County Council, Sessions House, Maidstone, ME14 1XQ, at The Kent County Council, Highway, Transportation & Waste, Ashford Highway Depot, Henwood Industrial Estate, Unit 4 Javelin Way, Ashford, Kent TN24 8AD and at Minster-on-Sea Parish Council, Love Lane, Minster-on-Sea, Sheerness, Kent ME12 2LP, during normal office hours or downloaded from the consultation document section below.

 

Anyone may, by application to the High Court within 6 weeks of the date of publication of this Notice, challenge the validity of the Orders or of any provision contained in them on the grounds that it is not within the powers conferred by the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, or any instrument made thereunder, or that there has been a failure to comply with any statutory requirement in relation to the Orders.

4. To extend the length of the Derestricted Speed Limit in the following road or lengths of road

  • i) FORTY ACRES HILL; from a point 70 metres southwest of its junction with Elmley Road to a point 110 metres east of the roundabout at its junction with Thistle Hill Way
  • ii) LOWER ROAD; from a point 35 metres east of its junction with Eastchurch Road to a point 104 metres east of its junction with Windmill Quay Road
  • iii) LOWER ROAD; from a point 70 metres east of the Cowstead Corner roundabout at its junction with Queenborough Road eastwards for a distance of 831 metres
