Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984

NOTICE is hereby given that the Kent County Council acting as the local Traffic Authority has made the above-named Order under Sections 1, 2, and 4 of Part IV of Schedule 9 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which would be to: -

Kent County Council has installed an additional bus lane (western side) on St Clements Way north of the roundabout with A226 London Road (west) and Steele Avenue, Stone, Dartford. The bus lane shall incorporate the existing bus lanes 24-hour time of operation hereby contributing to the overall improvement of public transport services across the Borough;

BUS LANE

St Clements Way, Stone; on the nearside traffic lane of the northbound carriageway from its junction with London Road (west) north-westwards for a distance of 18.5 metres.

St Clements Way, Stone; on the nearside traffic lane of the northbound carriageway from its junction with London Road (west) roundabout to a point 32.5 metres southeast of its junction with Steele Avenue.

St Clements Way, Stone; the nearside traffic lane of the northbound carriageway from a point 38 metres north of its junction with Castleridge Drive generally northwards for 268 metres.

St Clements Way, Stone; the right turn traffic lane on the off-side of the northbound carriageway from a point 30 metres south of the junction with Mounts Road to that junction.

St Clements Way, Stone; on the nearside traffic lane of the southbound carriageway from a point 170 metres south of its roundabout junction with London Road (west) generally southwards for a distance of 215 metres.

St Clements Way, Stone; on the off-side traffic lane of the southbound carriageway from a point 33 metres south of its junction with Castleridge Drive to a point 26 metres north of its junction with Mounts Road.

St Clements Way, Stone; on the off-side traffic lane of the southbound carriageway from a point 12 metres south of its junction with Mounts Roads to a point 22 metres north of its roundabout junction with Bluewater Parkway.

A copy of the Order, statement of the Council’s reasons for making the Order, a map indicating the location and the effect and a copy of any other Orders which will be amended by the Order

may be examined on Mondays to Friday at The Kent County Council, Sessions House, Maidstone, ME14 1XQ, at The Kent County Council, Highway, Transportation & Waste, Ashford Highway Depot, Henwood Industrial Estate, Unit 4 Javelin Way, Ashford, Kent TN24 8AD and at Dartford Borough Council Offices, Civic Centre, Home Gardens, Dartford Kent DA1 1DR during normal office hours or downloaded from the Consultation Documents section below.

Anyone may, by application to the High Court within 6 weeks of the date of publication of this Notice, challenge the validity of the Orders or of any provision contained in them on the grounds that it is not within the powers conferred by the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, or any instrument made thereunder, or that there has been a failure to comply with any statutory requirement in relation to the Orders.
