(VARIOUS ROADS, THE BOROUGH OF TONBRIDGE & MALLING) (20MPH, 30MPH, 40MPH, 50MPH SPEED LIMITS AND DERESTRICTED ROADS) AMENDMENT NO.33 ORDER 2018

 

Notice is hereby given that KENT COUNTY COUNCIL make the above named Order under sections 1(1), 2(1) to (3), 3(2), 4(1) and (2), 32(1), 35(1), 45, 46, 49 and 53 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, and of all other enabling powers, and after consultation with the Chief Officer of Police in accordance with Paragraph 20 of Schedule 9 to the Act:

The effect of the made Order would be to introduce a 20mph speed limit in the following roads:   Avebury Avenue, Danvers Road, Barden Road, Northcote Road, Gladstone Road, Holford Street, River Lawn Road, Preston Road, Norfolk Road, Cromer Street, Caistor Road, Nelson Avenue, Barden Park Road, Pembroke Road, Clare Avenue, Ives Road, Audley Avenue, Audley Rise, Alders Meadow, Chestnut Walk, Railway Approach, Albert Road, Wincliff Road, Waterloo Road, Tulip Tree Close, Copper Beech View, Lansdowne Road, Fosse Road, Lodge Road, The Avenue, Havelock Road, The Crescent, Houselands Road, Hawden Road, Stafford Road, The Slade, Bradley Street, Exchange Court, Annison Street, Church Street, Lockside, Mortley Close and Lyons Crescent for its the entire length. Vale Road from its junction with High Street to its junction with Angle Lane. High Street from its junction with Railway Approach to its junction with Lansdowne Road.

To amend the 30mph speed limit in the following roads to a 20mph speed limit:

Quarry Hill Road – From its junction with Railway Approach to its junction with Pembury Road. East Street and Lyons Crescent for its entire length.

The Order was made on 22 January 2019 and its provisions will come into effect on 28 January 2019.

Anyone may, by application to the High Court within 6 weeks of the date of publication of this Notice, challenge the validity of the Orders or of any provision contained in them on the grounds that it is not within the powers conferred by the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, or any instrument made thereunder, or that there has been a failure to comply with any statutory requirement to the Orders.
